Relaxing Massage aka Swedish Massage:

When you need to just relax this is the perfect massage. During this session the main technique used is Swedish massage - this is your "classic massage". Depending on the length of your session this may be full body or targeted to a body area. This is a gentle massage and will help with relaxation, relieving stress and tension, increasing blood flow and lymph drainage. Other techniques such as aromatherapy, cupping or percussion gun therapy may be used. Your therapist will discuss this with you during your session.

Deep Tissue Massage:

During a deep tissue massage pressure is firmer than a Swedish massage and may be full body or localized to one body area based on the length of your massage. This type of massage is beneficial for releasing areas of tightness and restriction in muscle and fascia. Other techniques that may be used during your session are aromatherapy, cupping or percussion gun therapy. Your therapist will discuss these options with you during your session.

CBD Massage:

Adding and enhancement of CBD infused product to your massage gives an added benefit to reducing muscle pain and stiffness.  CBD is a highly-targeted approach to pain relief which works well with injuries to joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. This may be a gentle massage or deep tissue based on your needs. We use Stirling Professional CBD products with 2500 mg of CBD and zero THC.

Fascia Stretch Therapy (FST):

Fascia Stretch Therapy aka Frederick Stretch Therapy is a unique technique created by the Stretch to Win Institute and it is distinct from traditional stretching because it decompresses, lengthens, and creates space in the fascia, thereby positively affecting all systems of the body, not just muscles. This may result in pain reduction, movement restoration, sleep improvement and stress reduction.  *Workout or loose clothing is worn during this session. You may also follow an FST session with a deep tissue massage.

Sports Massage:

This massage is specific to a certain sport or activity with the focus on soft tissue treatment or injury prevention. Compression techniques along with stretching allows for an increase range of motion and decrease tightness in muscles. A sports massage is beneficial for pre or post race/competition and even as part of your training program. Sports massage can be full body or focused on a specific area. Typically loose fitting clothes and/or shorts or tights are worn.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD):

Gentle massage used to treat swelling in the arms and legs that occurs during a medical treatment that blocks your lymphatic system. During your session the therapist uses specific techniques to move lymph from your tissues to your lymph nodes to decrease swelling. This is done with gentle touch massage and/or massage cups. This is a specific and localized massage to support the lymphatic system.

Oncology Massage:

Oncology massage may be beneficial in reducing the discomfort of symptoms associated with cancer and the side effects of various cancer treatments. Techniques used during your session may include classical, Swedish and myofascial massage. Your therapist will discuss these options with you during your session.  Depending on the length of your session this can be a full body massage or localized to a targeted area. *Oncology massage is not a treatment for cancer.

First time sessions please book here: Oncology FIRST time visit (90 Minutes)

Prenatal Massage:

Massage is a great addition to your prenatal care. The pressure during a prenatal massage will be a gentle technique with the focused areas generally being low back, hip and legs. This will help to relax and ease tension as the body changes with pregnancy.

Postnatal Massage:

Now that the baby has arrived and the focus is on the little one it is a time for us to remember the new mom! There are many changes during the 9 months of pregnancy that occur but there are even more following birth and through the next year as the mom's body returns to pre-pregnancy health. Our postnatal massages are generally full body and often with a focus on low and mid back areas and into the arms, wrists, shoulders and neck. All those hours of baby cuddling can be stressful to the upper body.

Add-ons to sessions may include:

Aromatherapy:

Adding this in to any massage combines the natural therapeutic properties of essential oils and the healing power of massage therapy.

Cupping:

This is a technique that has emerged from Traditional Chinese Medicine that helps increase blood flow in areas of stagnation or tightness. In cupping massage silicone cups are used in areas of tightness and may be placed without movement for a period of time or they may be glided across the skin. After your session a normal and typical response is to have areas of redness that last for 2-5 days.

All sessions include consultation, assessment and post treatment recommendations. Your therapist will also collaborate with your chiropractor when appropriate.
